He got his first camera from his father when turning eighteen years old, a Soviet Zenit reflex. Soon after, he became interested in the darkroom tecnich and decided to deepen in the process by taking a distance learning program. In 2000 he moves to Madrid and studies a two-years certificate program, Higher National Diploma on Image Management, at the CEV´s School ( CEV ).
Right after, he gets hired in an advertising photo studio where he learns to work in a Sinar environment using large format cameras and digital backs. In that time he spends his hollidays assisting to the Agency Cover´s Workshops for reportage in Zahara de la Sierra, Cádiz. There, he re-discovers photography and decided to apply to the ICP School in New York ( ICP ). He is accepted in 2004 for the One-Year Certificate Program on Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.
Once graduated he started a project called “El Árbol del Ritmo” ( EADR ) wich is a long term documentary project focused on ethnomusicology. As a musician´s photographer he has been exploring an anthropological approach to folk musics and the different ways of playing percussion around the world.
He is currently based and available for assigments in Central America, where he works as cultural agent and independent curator for photography aswell.
